What is a charter school?
The District of Columbia's public charter schools are independently operated, non-sectarian public schools open to all DC residents, regardless of their neighborhood, socioeconomic status, academic achievement, or ethnicity. There are no admission tests or tuition fees.

How can families enroll their children at Achievement Prep?
Achievement Prep is only accepting applications for 4th and 5th grade students. Families can submit an application for enrollment online or by contacting the school. Enrollment is on a space-available basis. If enrollment exceeds capacity, a waiting list is developed and a lottery system is used as spaces become available.

What is the average class size at Achievement Prep?
The average class size is 20 students.

Does the school have a uniform policy?
Yes.

Are students assigned homework on a daily basis?
Yes. Students are assigned an average of 11/2 to 2 hours of homework each night.
