About Us
Achievement Prep offers a college-preparatory, tuition-free middle school option to students in Washington, DC, with a focus on communities East of the Anacostia River. Our program is intentionally and strategically designed to combat the fourth-grade slump by beginning our enrollment at this critical educational stage, providing students with a rigorous college-prep program focused on literacy intervention, remediation and acceleration.
Achievement Prep is a Building Excellent Schools Fellow founded school. The Head of School of Achievement Prep, Shantelle Wright, has received extensive executive training, guidance and support from Building Excellent Schools, a national non-profit organization based in Boston, MA that is committed to dramatically improving the academic achievement of underserved students in urban areas across the country.
